Label data
Every prepacked unit you sell needs a label, and most of what goes on it is already in the batch you just made. The Label data page turns a finished batch into a block you copy into whatever produces your artwork.
It generates data, not artwork. Nothing here is certified: the figures come from the ingredient data you entered, and the page says so at the bottom.
Where it is
Section titled “Where it is”Open a completed production batch and click Label data in the header. It is its own page.
That is deliberate. The batch record is a frozen document: what was made, from what, at what cost. Label data is where you decide how that batch is described on a jar, and you will change your mind about it. Keeping the two apart means the record stays a record, and the label is somewhere you can find it.
A test run and an unfinished batch have no label page: neither has a finished product to describe.

The ingredient declaration
Section titled “The ingredient declaration”Ingredients in descending order of weight at the time of manufacture, exactly as EU FIC 1169/2011 asks for them. “At the time of manufacture” is taken literally: the amounts you recorded in the run’s What went in are what the order and every percentage are computed from, and a line you never recorded keeps its planned amount. A batch weighed off-recipe declares what actually went into it. Two things happen automatically:

Allergens are marked in bold, capitals or underline, whichever you pick. Your pick shows on screen, in print and in the text you copy, and it stays with the label.
In the text itself an allergen is written
[like this], one shape whatever marker you pick. That way changing the marker still works after you have rewritten the declaration by hand, instead of leaving the old asterisks behind as stray punctuation. -
A component is declared under its own name, with its own list in brackets.
tomato sauce (tomato, olive oil, **garlic**). If a component is under 2% of the finished product, the page says you may declare it without breaking it down, and offers a tick box to do it. It never decides that for you.
The same ingredient added in two phases is one line, summed.
The declaration uses each ingredient’s Labeled as name when you have set one, for components too. “Frozen raspberries” is what you buy and count; “Raspberries” is what the jar says, and a component named after its process (“Fermented chili lacto”) can declare under a name a label can carry. Set it on the ingredient’s compliance card or in the recipe’s Edit dialog. Like the allergens, it is read live: correct it once and every label follows.
An ingredient used by the part declares that part, under its own “Labeled as” name or the ingredient’s. Two parts declaring under one name become one line, summed. See ingredients you break down.
Percentages: as added, or in the finished product
Section titled “Percentages: as added, or in the finished product”A batch that simmers for three hours weighs less coming out than it did going in. That changes every percentage on the label, and both readings are legally defensible depending on the product.
So it asks. Percentages calculated offers:
- As added: every quantity read against what you weighed into the batch. The default.
- As in the finished product: read against what actually came out.
The batch’s input is what went into it. A part you discard is on no label and in no denominator.
When the batch lost mass, the page says how much: “Output is 8.4% below total input.” Your choice is sealed with the batch, so printing the same label a year later reproduces the same block.
Quantities to declare (QUID)
Section titled “Quantities to declare (QUID)”A quantitative declaration is normally required when an ingredient is named in the product name, is emphasized on the front, or is what makes the product what it is. We can see your recipe; we cannot see your artwork. So it proposes rather than decides.
It proposes an ingredient when its name appears in the recipe name, or when the recipe marks it as its base. Each proposal comes with its computed percentage, which you can accept, edit, or leave. What you accept is sealed with the batch.
Each row shows what it prints: Tomato sauce (45.5%) ticked, Tomato sauce unticked. Unticking drops the percentage, not the ingredient.
The proposals are only what the recipe can say. An ingredient your artwork pictures or emphasizes is invisible from here, so Declare another ingredient adds any ingredient from the declaration by hand, at its computed percentage.
An accepted percentage prints inside the ingredient list, after the ingredient it belongs to: tomato sauce (40%). That is where the regulation puts it, and it is where a reader looks for it. The block on the page is only where you choose.
Allergens
Section titled “Allergens”Emphasis inside the list is necessary and not enough. Butter carries milk, and a customer scanning for “milk” will not find it spelled out in the word butter.
So the label carries two lines of its own:

Contains is read off your ingredients: every allergen recorded on every ingredient in the batch, however deep in a component it sits. You can correct it. An ingredient record can be incomplete, and you know what is in your workshop better than the database does.
The ⓘ beside the heading says where each one came from: “milk: Butter”. You should never have to guess why an allergen is on your label, and anything you added yourself is listed separately.

May contain traces of is never computed, and starts empty. A shared line, a shared mill, a shared pair of hands: those are facts about how you work, and no calculation can reach them. If it applies to you, write it.
The nutrition panel
Section titled “The nutrition panel”The seven mandatory rows, in Annex XV order, per 100 g:

Energy is calculated from the Annex XIV conversion factors over the macronutrients, never taken from a figure you typed. Salt is calculated from sodium (× 2.5) where an ingredient records sodium; the panel says when it did that.
Values are rounded once, at the end, per the Commission’s December 2012 tolerance guidance. Nothing is rounded on the way in.
Missing data is missing, not zero. If an ingredient carrying more than 1% of the batch has no nutrition figures, the panel names it and reports itself incomplete. A panel quietly computed over 60% of a recipe is worse than no panel, so this one refuses to pretend.

A part uses its own figures, or none. The yolk’s fat is not the egg’s, so a part without figures is named as missing rather than filled in from the whole ingredient.
INCI, for cosmetics
Section titled “INCI, for cosmetics”The Declaration picker at the top switches between the food declaration and the INCI list a cosmetic needs. These are not two views of one thing: they are different documents under different regulations, so the choice sticks to the label and is still there when you come back.
The INCI list is flat, with every component broken out, and ordered the way Regulation 1223/2009 asks: descending by weight down to 1%, then any order below that. We use alphabetical below 1%, so the change is visible.
No percentages. A cosmetic list carries names and an order, and nothing else. There is no QUID and no nutrition panel on a cosmetic.
INCI is unavailable until each ingredient at or above 1% of the batch carries an INCI name. The ⓘ next to the picker names the first three that are missing one. Add them on the ingredient page, or let the AI suggestion propose them alongside allergens and density.
Three things it does not do, because each needs a vocabulary the app does not hold: CI numbers for colorants, the [nano] suffix, and the individual fragrance allergens that become mandatory on 31 July 2026. If you need them, edit the list and validate it. Editing is a normal way to use this page.
Getting it out
Section titled “Getting it out”-
Copy on any block puts that block on the clipboard on its own, so the ingredient line goes in one field of your label editor and the panel in another.

Copy all takes the whole thing as plain text.

Download .txt writes the same text to a file named after the lot.

Print labels asks which design, how many, and what you are printing on. It renders a PDF and opens it in a new tab, where your browser’s own viewer prints it. Paper and scale are chosen there, as they always were.
Two designs are waiting the first time you open this page, and both are yours to change under Labels:
- Lot sticker, 40 × 20 mm: product, lot, production date and the date line. The thing you physically need on a Friday.
- Ingredients and nutrition, 70 × 50 mm: the declaration exactly as the page shows it (your own wording if you rewrote it, declared quantities inline, allergens in bold), then the panel, then the Contains and May-contain lines, then the net quantity. A different sticker for a different part of the jar.
Roll prints one label per page at its exact size, which is what a label printer feeds. Sheet lays them out on the stock you buy: pick it from the list (the common Avery sizes are there, and you can describe your own), then click the first free cell so a part-used sheet carries on where it stopped. The 70 × 50 mm size suits most jars; a long declaration may want a bigger label than that, and there is no way for us to know which stock you buy.
Draft, or validated
Section titled “Draft, or validated”Everything above is computed. That is honest and it is not a declaration: a declaration is something a person is answerable for.
So the label has a state, and it is the whole label, not one part of it. What you put your name to is the document that goes on the jar.
- Draft: nobody has signed it off. Edit anything you like.
- Validated: someone checked it and put their name to it. From then on those are the values the page serves, copies, downloads and prints, and the page is locked.
Editing a draft
Section titled “Editing a draft”While a label is in draft, every part of it has an Edit button:
- The declaration and the INCI list edit as free text, because a correction to a declaration is a rewritten sentence and the allergens are yours to place. You don’t have to type the brackets: select a word and press Mark as allergen. The preview under the box shows the words as they will print, not the punctuation that produces them.
- The allergens edit as two lists of tags.
- The nutrition panel edits as its figures.
Anything you change is marked Edited, and Start again from the calculation hands that one part back. The rest keeps following the calculation, so correcting one clumsy sentence does not freeze your nutrition panel with it. Saving a box unchanged is not an edit.
If you change something else later, like accepting a declared quantity, the part you rewrote cannot follow it. The section says so and offers the calculation back in one press. It never rewrites your words.
Validating
Section titled “Validating”Validate label takes the whole document as it stands. It records your name (the operator you are linked to, so the record reads in the same names as your run sheets), the date, and an optional why. That last field is the one worth filling: “checked against the lab report of 12/06” is the sentence someone needs a year from now, and no timestamp substitutes for it.
Then the page locks. Every editor closes, every picker greys out, and nothing can change underneath the thing you signed.
Return to draft opens it up again, and the draft starts from what was validated, so you are correcting a label rather than retyping one. It erases nothing: the Sign-off record at the foot of the page keeps every revision, including the return, with who and when and why.
When the batch data moves
Section titled “When the batch data moves”Someone fills in an ingredient’s nutrition six weeks after you signed. The label does not quietly recompute itself, and it does not hide the change either: it tells you the batch data behind it moved after it was signed, and that what you are looking at is what was signed. Return it to draft when you want the change in.
Before you print
Section titled “Before you print”Read the disclaimer at the foot of the page, and mean it. The block is calculated from what you entered, in a format that fits EU rules as they are published. Wording, order of the mandatory particulars, allergen typography and any national requirement are your market’s business, and a first print is worth showing to someone who knows the rules where you sell.
