Receiving

Receiving is the moment an order stops being a promise and becomes stock. You can do it in one click or line by line as the boxes arrive.

Receive all, or line by line

On the order page:

• Receive all marks every pending line as received in one go.
• Each pending line also has its own Receive button, for the crate that arrived while the rest is still on a truck.

What receiving a line does

Three things happen for an ingredient or packaging line:

1. A delivery movement is written to the stock ledger, so the quantity is on hand immediately. See stock, deliveries and losses.
2. The ingredient’s weighted average cost is updated with the line’s effective cost, fees included. See fees and landed cost.
3. The price is snapshotted as a vendor offer, marked “from a delivery”, so your price history builds itself as you buy.

Equipment lines behave differently: each unit received joins your equipment as an owned unit, at its landed cost.

Partial receipts

Receive lines as they show up. The order header counts along (“3/5 received”) and the status sits at Partial until the last line is in, then flips to Received.

Undo or revert a received line

Received the wrong line, or mistyped a quantity? Click Undo delivery on the line. You choose what happens to the stock movement it created:

• Keep in stock log: the movement stays in the ledger; only the link to this order line is removed. Use it when the goods really arrived but belong to a different record.
• Revert delivery: the movement is deleted and the average cost is recalculated, as if the delivery never happened.

Deleting a whole order that has received deliveries asks the same question once, for all of them.
